Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The leaders of the Party of Justice and Development (PJD), winner of the last general elections with 25 seats, and Al Istiqlal (Independence Party), the third most-powerful political force in parliament with 46 seats, look set to have smoothly started the negotiation phase in view of a government coalition.
At the end of their meeting yesterday, Hamid Chabat, the secretary general of the IP, and Benkirane, secretary general of the PJD, were caught celebrating their soon-to-be-concluded coalition in a jovial atmosphere.
“This first meeting went very smoothly. In the next meeting, Inshallah, a government coalition will be unveiled,” Hamid Chabat said.
“Both sides subordinated their toughts to the supreme interest of the nation,” Hamid Chabat said.
