former legal advisor to the IAAF Lamine Diack, Habib Cissé is in prison. He was remanded in custody in connection with the investigation of suspicions of corruption and doping which shakes the world of athletics.
Cisse had been indicted in the case, beginning November 2015 in conjunction Diack and the French doctor Gabriel Dollé, responsible until 2014 for the fight against doping at the IAAF.
It is the first imprisonment in this case, said the AFP gives information. It was ordered last week by the judge of freedoms and detention at the request of the investigating judges.
The financial Paris prosecutor, asked by AFP, declined to comment on the decision considered "improbable and unsubstantiated" by lawyers for Habib Cissé, Mr. Louis-Marie de Roux and Cédric Labrousse.
They have appealed to the investigating chamber without emitting comment on the reasons that prompted Justice to order the detention of their client.
