
Polling for over 15 thousand candidates for some 7,800 seats as people's representatives in the soums (rural districts) and city districts ended yesterday at 22.00. Mr Ch.Sodnomtseren, Chairman of the General Election Committee said that voter turnouts had been insufficient at polling stations in seven districts of Ulaanbaatar. As a result, citizens of Ulaanbaatar's 79 khoroo will have to vote again on Sunday (23 rd of October). In the Nalaikh and Bagakhangai districts of Ulaanbaatar turnout reached 50 percent.
The Mongolian local election has cost MNT 13.9 billion.
