Duden J is present in the French capital as part of the preparation of his next album planned for the end of the year. Including working with the studio BroadKast well as renowned musicians such as Emelyne Chirol (Editor's note: Violinist Johnny Halliday), he speaks of this future album designed by the force of his will and without producer.
Burkina24 (B24): How would you describe your musical style?Duden J : To tell you the truth I did not invent music. I got into music because I love rap. I love hip-hop. I do it. But with time, I tried to give me a style. To summarize, I think I rap, hip-hop, but much more, I am the Duden. I say this because I do not want to cut and paste and do what others are already doing. I am inspired by the style Rap, hip-hop style in order to make the Duden.B24: The making of the Duden clear your trademark. But since rap, hip-hop are styles that inspire you, can you tell us the musicians that have marked you? The musicians that inspire you in your way to the Duden?Duden J : We first began in Africa. A man who has nothing to do with rap or hip-hop style. I mean Lokoua Kanza (Editor's note: Artist Congolese musician composer) who is in sparkling style. And even if he does not have much promotion, anyone who knows the "good music" know that Lokoua Kanza is a leader.Besides Lokoua Kanza, in rap and hip-hop, you have the United States as a gentleman Nas (Editor's note: Artist rapper) which showed that the US rap is not necessarily the rap star gang. It sends strong messages of meaning through style. Then in France, there have been many artists such as AMI or Diams. Actually, I was influenced by those of style and message. I want to say that all artists have style but when I speak of "style" for those I have mentioned, I just want to say that they decided to bring their special touch. And that's what I liked and inspired by artists that I mentioned and I could cite many more.B24: Speaking of the new album that you are preparing, what is its color? And what are the themes that will be covered?Duden J : The next album Duden: It is the dream of Duden . I mean, what I want to achieve through work, the dreams I had in my head when I started music. The next album Duden is trying to reach all those who are at the top and I admire. Trying to compete with them, trying to go in the same direction in the hope of flirting with the same scenes as them. To summarize, my next album is the top, that is the ambition, is the dream. There are no limits in this album. There are no complex, there are no barriers. What others could do, I tell myself that I too can do it in this album. Now for themes, this album does not even theme. It works as it comes. As to paraphrase a certain artist, it comes out like that or it comes out as it comes. So, what I feel, I say. This album is about my daily life, my dreams, my ambitions. So this album is about us, how we are, our problems, our hopes and expectations and ambitions. Overall, the album is about what we should be for Africa to get out as our hopes. Let mason or plumber or that artists, mechanics, the ultimate goal is to get out honestly. There is no theme, strictly speaking, but the album keeps the same virtues.B24: We have had the pleasure to listen to you in featuring with artists like Maatikara Mike Danon, Nash, Bonsa, etc. Can you tell us if other musicians collaborated on the development of your next album?Duden J: Already for the artists you mentioned, it's the people who have helped me. Mike Danon, Nash, Bonsa, MaatiKara have always been there for me in one way or another and I say thank you.But it's past collaborations although I would have liked to have them on my next album. There will be guest appearances on my album. There will Inshallah, but it will be a surprise. Also a surprise with the successful talents in Europe, Africa or anywhere in the world. What I mean, the feats will be with people I like first, artists that I respect musically, artistically.B24: Which of these past featrurings you the most?Duden J: I can speak in general of all these guest appearances. MaatiKara is a sister with whom I recorded there is that 10 years. Bonsai is a brother. I call to me any time. He likes music like me.Nash, we do not even speak! It's a little sister is in Paris and before you came ( the reporter of Burkina24, Ed ) we were in communication there is not even 5 minutes on the phone. She wanted to know how was my stay. The reality, I am a work in when I work I like everything to be spontaneous, we do not ask questions. All featurings I did impressed me. In reality without jargon, so I will put my voice on the sound of someone is firstly because I like the person and secondly I love the work that the person does. So I also hope those I contacted my work functioned well.B24: Can you give us a little analysis of the current situation of Burkinabe rap? We feel that it is currently in the low point after the golden age of the early 2000s.Duden J : I think I rap Burkinabe worked because everyone was ready for a cause and I also think that the Burkinabe rap began to sink because some thought they were stars. Me is my humble opinion. I see people who swell a bit because they have done some scenes, because they travel more than others. You do not travel more than Master Gims! Finally ! I mean that in any work that we do, we must have some humility especially coming from " the land of upright men ". It's part of our culture. As long as we will not have it, we will lose. I mean simply that for the Burkinabe music through hip-hop, can be expressed, we must know where we come from and do not forget our goals for the future. We should not forget that there is something very important. We had seniors who have worked, who fought so that today we can have certain facilities. I can quote, rest his soul, big brother Georges Ouédraogo. These are individuals who have worked and we should not forget the examples they have left us.B24: In your latest single, one clearly sees the message questioning the weight of transitions, including indexing witchcraft accusations. What overall message would you want music lovers to take away from your next album?Duden J : Already when we talk of the " Weight of the transition " I can not continue to say thank you to all those who agreed to accompany me. I want to say thank you to Brother Malcolm, thank you to Ombr Blanch, Basta Ginga, thank you to Thaliane, thank you to the Ninja Players, thank you Saw Py of Duny Yaam.B24: You who always send messages, is there a particular message in your next album?Duden J: The love of neighbor, forgiveness, tolerance. I'll be very short. In Burkina Faso, people of art and thinking that everyone is better than the other. We take pleasure in thinking that the other has problems. But everyone can have problems.Me all my messages speak of justice. Whoever knows me since Clepto gang knows I like that everything is done fairly, equitably. But above all, I would like for the future that we can tolerate. I think if tomorrow everyone gets to tolerate, there will be jihad, there will be no judgment on people.Tolerance is what we lack. My message is one of love and tolerance message. Those who know Duden know that it can not be that simple! There's something down. We will also clashing somewhat anything (laughs).B24: You mentioned Clepto Gang earlier. Are we may hope to see soon met Clepto Gang?Duden J : You know, we have the advantage of being brothers and childhood friends. I am currently in Paris, and for example, one morning I received a call from Lawax. He told me my brother I sent a transfer of $ 200 to participate.A Clepto, you never know separate. We started the music being young, very young. Everyone tries to fend currently in the middle. We never did fight. Some have separated. We did not separate. That's life that made others went to do what they have to do.For example Lawax, I have not asked him and he sent me 200 dollars. You see how it affects. He said, " my brother I know it must be hard because you have not producer. I called the others. They said they will make a move toward you . "I prefer to clarify this and I know that everyone is passionate about music but everyone does his job. I have decided to do nothing else than that. But I'm not God. We'll necessarily one day find somewhere either here in Paris, Ouaga whether Boromo or New York. But as soon as we find, we'll do what we love: music.B24: We like to know that fraternity still exists within this groupDuden J : My last concert was in 2012. I think I invited Clepto. They came, they sang but everyone was not there. It was PH and Lawax. They sang. People enjoyed. People understood that there was no fighting. But hey, I take along to your question that I speak of hip-hop that I know. The groups in the time worked and who have separated, I hope that God will touch their heart to appease their hate for them to get back together. Because me as I have said, I prefer cohesion rather than division. I never supported anyone in a division, not of life. I hope that all groups which are divided come together again to bring happiness to the Burkinabe music.B24: When is the release date of the album ?Duden J : I have nothing to say, I am patient and all I ask is that people who like my music to be as patient as me. No title still stalled, no output, nothing. But for now I think that we should continue working. All I can say is that the album will be released before 2017, if it pleases God. This is what I can say for the moment now and then we'll see.B24: Do you have a last word for the readers?Duden J : I say thank you to all Burkinabe. Thank you to those who have always supported me because Duden support is not easy. I listen, I understand, I try to improve myself, I try to become a better man, but this is not easy, it is not easy to become the perfect man.I want to say thank you to everybody, sorry to anyone I offended in one way or another without knowing or wanting it, and I promise to be better. I promise to improve. And finally, I salute Faso a hip-hop festival where I was scheduled tomorrow October 7 (Editor's note: Interview Oct. 6, 2016). I had to sing in Ouaga. Sadly; you witness here. I have to stay because I looking for me. I came for my album. We meet people who have a lot of great work but do not have time. I beg your pardon. I think this is the first edition where I will not be there.God bless the country, it gives us long life so that for the next edition, we come to sing. I again apologize for my absence. I love my country, I love my music. No matter what they say about me, whether true or false, I try to improve myself to please you and God bless you. Thank you.
