The former TOWIE star - who sadly lost her mother to suicide when she was 13 - was put on antidepressants by her doctor in April 2015 after she admitted she 'couldn't get out of bed'.
She said: 'This time last year I didn't want to wake up the next day, I couldn't get out of bed. I was in a hole, drinking and going out. I was burying my head in the sand, I was really in a bad way, overweight and in a bad relationship that I wanted to get out of.'
The blonde beauty now claims exercise has helped her come off her medication and said working out gives her a 'natural high'.
She explained: 'Training has changed everything, sweating makes me feel great and the endorphins that cardio releases leave me on a natural high.

'I've not been to counselling, I went to one person once to speak about stuff and I've actually learnt this myself. I'm off antidepressants, I've done this on my own.'
Now releasing her first fitness DVD, Weight Loss Workouts, next month, Frankie has insisted that her DVD is 'to help people' in the same way it has helped her with 'anxiety and depression'.
The reality starlet's candid confession comes after she took to Instagram on Sunday to confirm she was releasing the DVD.
Giving her fans major fitspo, Frankie also shared the sexy cover which showcased her impressive rippling abs for all to see.

She explained in another Instagram post: 'It's been a rollercoaster of a ride the past two years but I'm finally feeling like me again.'
'My confidence is coming back, I'm out more and I'm so grateful to my family and some very close friends who have been there for me through this journey.
'I know it's been as hard for you as it was for me and I'm still not there 100% but I will be and I promise I will stay the Frankie you all know and love.'
Frankie previously tipped the scales at just under 13st, but has slimmed down to 10st 4lbs after ditching her addiction to sweets and embracing working out in the gym.

Speaking in an interview with Closer magazine last month, she said: 'Last year was pretty terrible. I broke up with my partner and suffered from depression, but I finally feel like I'm back to myself - only better.'
Frankie - who shot to fame on The Only Way Is Essex alongside her popular brother Joey Essex, in 2011 - revealed she has suffered from years of depression following the death of her mother Tina when she was just 13 years old.
She explained: 'I've always suffered a bit from depression since losing my mum. And I can live in the past sometimes, so if I feel down about something I am prone to taking myself back to a sad place.
'Going to the gym helps me in that way, because I leave the place happy. It's really helped my depression.'
